Caf€ Mozart, our sister group, was founded in 1985 with the aim of performing chamber music of the late 18th century on period instruments. Programmes are innovative and based on original research, but the primary aim is to entertain, with often unfamiliar music played and sung by outstanding performers. All concerts are informally introduced by the ‘proprietor’ Dr Derek McCulloch. Caf€Mozart has performed in churches and halls of all shapes and sizes, and has also appeared in such prestige venues as an Ambassador’s Residence, a Bishop’s Palace, the Bodleian Library in Oxford, the Charterhouse in the City of London, the Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall of Manchester University, the Dungeon of Windsor Castle, the Institute of Directors, the Old Royal Naval College and the Queen’s House in Greenwich, St John’s, Smith Square in London, two UNESCO World Heritage sites, including a fourth century Romano-Christian burial place in Hungary, and the wine estate where Haydn’s wine was stored. You can buy some Caf€ Mozart CDs in our CD section. |
